Qualifications
Required Experience
This position is currently a .50 full time equivalency (FTE) with the potential to increase to based on student hours. The anticipated start date for the position is August 25, 2022. Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructors are responsible to plan, implement, and assess curriculum for ABE students. This includes, but is not limited to: General Educational Development (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), US Citizenship, Adult Diploma, digital literacy, workplace skills, career and post-secondary planning, basic literacy and numeracy. Instructors will help monitor and improve student and program outcomes.
Certification Requirements
Education & Training:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
Work Experience:
Preferred: One or more years working in a related position
Licensure/Certification:
Required: MN Teaching Licensure or ability to obtain
Preferred: Adult Basic Education Licensure
Other Requirements
Provide direct instruction in ABE content areas
Create and update individual learner plans and goals based on knowledge of adult student characteristics
Seek out opportunities to promote the program
Maintain all registration and attendance data for ABE reporting requirements
Attend district staff meetings and consortium meetings
