Development Coordinator

Qualifications

Required Experience

A strong passion for education and the mission of the organization Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, and development work Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships Highly organized and detail-oriented Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively Proficiency in Google Suite and fundraising software tools is an advantage Experience with graphic design and ability to convey the aesthetic of the organization in development materials Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of a small organization

Other Requirements

Collaborate and strategize to meet capital campaign benchmarks
Identify potential funding sources, donors, and partners
Develop and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors
Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives
Write grant proposals and applications for funding opportunities
Manage and maintain donor databases and records
Coordinate with the board and staff to align fundraising efforts with the organization's goals
Create and update promotional materials to support fundraising efforts
Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising efforts

The Community School (TCS) for Place-based Education is a small and passionate non-profit, independent elementary and middle school committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students by inspiring a sense of self, place, and community through a meaningful, Place-based learning and teaching model. Students engage with the natural world and the greater community on our 77-acre campus and surrounding Downeast communities on a daily basis, and engage as citizens and stewards of the places where they learn and play. The school was founded in 2014.
