We are asking rural communities to share how COVID-19 is impacting them and how teachers and teacher-leaders are adapting in the face of nationwide school closures. Read below how Heidi Wachtel of Deshler, NE is adapting her classroom.

"I create a document that has material covered in class, students journal about a historic event, we Zoom once a week for questions. Most students enjoy sharing things going on in their lives right now. I try to look over their material as soon as it is sent to me, so if something is wrong I can contact them. Last week I Zoomed individually with students who were having problems. We hatch eggs in the spring and I will be using Zoom and posting on our Google Classroom about it."
